About Me
I am a senior at Baylor University, majoring in Apparel Merchandising with a Business Administration minor.
I enjoy cold, sunny days, eating anything with chocolate in it, the sweet sounds of Ben Rector, photography, and lounging around with a WWD in my hand.
I recently completed a 10 week internship in the buying department of field & stream at Academy Sports & Outdoors. For anyone who knows me, you would know that I have never been fishing in my life and have never come close to even touching a gun. This was a field that I knew absolutely nothing about. The internship was very fast paced because not only did I complete my assigned projects, but I also had to become familiar with the species, products, and departments I was mapping out. During my 10 weeks at Academy I learned a field that I never thought I would have been exposed to and gained experience from a department that I never thought I would have been interested in. I had the opportunity to design a line of kids camo hats that will hit stores in fall 2013, I was exposed to camo clothing and the smart textiles that are being developed, inventory reports, completing product replenishment, transfers advertising proofs, departmental mapping, timing of buys and clearance strategies.
With the experience I have gained and my eye for fashion I hope to obtain a position in a
company with credibility and recognition in the fashion industry that will
allow me to utilize my knowledge, skills, and abilities to further
organizational goals and initiatives.
